When I copy and paste information from the web to a word processor page, I often get a bunch of boxes around the text and I can’t get rid of them even if I remove the text to another page. How can I delete these nuisance boxes?

Mary, most likely, you are seeing text boxes. If you select the text that has a box, then go to the menu for Format->BordersAndShading you should be able to set it to None to clear it up. Of course, you could always paste it to Notepad, and back, but it may mess up other formatting that you would like to keep...
