I've a couple of files I can't open. Found from the Web they are Word Perfect. Don't know how or why they are on my PC but can't find a way to open. Is it possible? Didn't get too excited about them until I couldn't find a way to open them and then they became important!

MS Word can view them. Sometimes you may have to install an "add-in" which Word will tell you it needs to do. Just click on OK or INSTALL and let it do its thing.

What is the file extension on the WordPerfect file?

Do you have MS Word?

If so you can open this file. Open Word, then go to FILE>OPEN and select in the "File of Type" box at the bottom of the dialog box select "WordPerfect 6.x (*.wpd;*.doc)".

If you don't have MS Word, search the forum for "MS Word viewer" (Or something similar). There was another message thread here somewhere that addressed that issue - there is a free MS Word file viewer that may work also.

Keep us posted.

I do have MS Word and have the files open. I found them unimportant but at least my mind is refreshed--think I have known about that process and had forgotten. Thanks Oliver.

PS:
Was able to open from MS Word after your instructions.
